The Ravens Analysis: 2014 Week 5 – Ravens vs. Colts

20130903-172430.jpgThe Ravens franchise does not have a real rivalry with the Colts franchise but the City of Baltimore still remembers the Colts leaving Baltimore to go to Indianapolis in the middle of the night after saying they were not going. There is no love for the Colts from the Baltimore Ravens fans who are from Baltimore.  The Ravens were coming off an impressive win over the Carolina Panthers and looked to keep their win streak going.  The defense showed up but problems on the offense led the Ravens to loose against the Colts by a score of 20 – 13. The NFL gets it right in the end. Hussain Abdullah did not deserve the flag.

The NFL is dealing with a lot of non football issues right now. That list grew somewhat on Sunday as Hussain Abdullah was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct as he did a 2 knee slide into a prayer.  The referees did explicitly say that the penalty was for sliding.  Abdullah and coach Reed felt it was about the slide as opposed to him just praying.

However, the NFL came back next next day after reviewing everything and issued a statement that said that he should not have been flagged at all.  This also means he will not get fined which is a good thing. Continue reading

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here

The NFL, CFL and many others sports organizations will be doing their part for Breast Cancer Awareness this month. The players will be wearing pink gloves, chin straps, shoes and other accessories. Some players (CFL) will even be dying their facial hair pink to support the cause.

We invite everyone to not just wear pink but take the time to show support for those that have been effected. This includes individuals and families.

General Greetings

Hussain Abdullah gets unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after touchdown but was actually praying – What do you think?

Hussain AbdullahIn the week 4 Monday night Football game with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the New England Patriots, safety Hussain Abdullah intercepted a pass from Tom Brady and ran it back for a touchdown. After he crossed the goal line he slid on both knees and as he came to a stop he began to pray in an Islamic custom on both knees.  This was determined to be “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” and he was penalized for it but the official ruling was that he was penalized for the sliding. The Ravens Analysis: 2014 Week 4 – Ravens vs. Panthers

Steve Smith, Sr.The story was how Steve Smith Sr. was going to do against his old team and who was going to have the final laugh in the trash talk that was going on between Smith Sr. and the Panthers. Let’s all be clear, Steve Smith Sr. doesn hate his team mates at all and gave hugs to most of them before the start of the game but it was going to be war after the kickoff. Quietly the Ravens also had to proove that they had just as effective offense without Dennis Pitta who is on IR with a hip injury. The Ravens proceded to do just that against a banged up Panthers team and won with an overwhelimg score of 38 – 10. (It could have been more) Continue reading

The Ravens Analysis: 2014 Week 3 – Ravens vs. Browns

Kyle Juszczyk

The Browns are the AFC North whipping boys. The always have the worst record and have not made it to the playoffs in a long time. The Ravens were coming off a victory against the Steelers and had plenty of time to rest. With all of that, the Ravens always seem to make things interesting but eventually pulled out a 23 – 21 victory in Cleveland for their first away victory. Continue reading

The Ravens Analysis: 2014 Week 1 – Ravens vs. Bengals

20130903-172430.jpgThe Ravens opening game had a serious remenincence of last year when the offense struggled and the defense was on the field too long. With this in mind the Ravens 23 – 16 loss to the Cincinatti Bengals seems like the correct outcome…but there is hope. Continue reading
